Just for the record, when Vanagons were first introduced folks were quite impressed at the improvement they represented over the previous models and some even went so far as to label them the "Porsche 911 of vans." This would explain a previous poster's impression that that's the engine they came with or at least those trying to sell him one. Of course when Vanagons were first introduced they were air cooled and thoughts of Porsche engines, given the van's much improved handling, were obvious. |
