I purchased the Coleman Duracat at Home Depot in Fredericksburg, VA this weekend for $39.95 (it was marked $49. but rang up as $39...I didn't argue). I was estatic when I saw this catalytic portable heater for such a cheap price, and was planning on being the first to expose this to the List....but Malcolm beat me to it:-) It must be the same as the Plat Cat - all the specs are the same and it has a Platinum Element.

I haven't tested it yet, but it looks like it's perfect for winter camping.  The literature recommends a ventilation space of only 6 sq inches.  I plan to place it on the stove with the side window slightly cracked. This and the natural ventilation through the pores of the canvas top should provide more than sufficient ventilation for recycling CO with fresh oxygen.

But I don't plan to sleep with it on either.
