Chayan,

In the U.S., we have a storage for the spare tire under the front of the van, roughly centered behind the front bumper. It's a round, tire-shaped pan if you look up into the van.

Hi All, When I purchase my syncro, I did not realize that where to put the spare tire. I've only checked that it had a spare tire and it was put at rear storage (above the engine hatch). On my reserch, looking in the instruction manual borrowing from my friend, I found that the spare tire can be located at rear storage, attached left side by bracket or in front, underneath the radiator. I have been to VW authorized dealer here in Thailand asking the question where to put the spare tire on syncro and they said that spare tire should be put in front of. However, in sectional picture of syncro I have seen that the spare tire was in rear storage left hand side.
