FWIW, I got one from Steve last summer and I love all the admiring stares I get from other Vanagon owners here in town. I must get stopped once a week at gas stations and restaurant parking lots by people asking about my "custom-made" rack...

I have only used it to drag bikes around so far (no coolers or bags of cement) but I am very happy with the way it fits the back of the Vanagon. After about 6 months, there is no sign of rust or oxidation, and the rubber bumpers that separate it from the body seem to do a very good job of not marring the paint. (Unlike the strap-on jobs I tried a few times). Which brings up a good question - Steve, what is the availability of replacement rubber parts when these dry out and become brittle?

On the negative side, the "First Class" bike carrier is good, but definitely not as secure fitting as a Yakima or Thule setup. (More convenient, though)

I'm about ready to place another order for Paulchen bike racks and want to know if there is anyone interested in getting one.

I can knock 10% off my web prices, and maybe a little more if you buy any accessories.

There are models of Paulchen racks to fit Vanagons and EuroVans.

I need to know by the end of this week if you are interested.

For some good pics of the Paulchen rack check out http://www.vanagon.com/info/vehicles/beethoven/paulchen.html
