Subject: Front Heater Motor
Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed

I had concluded that my front heater motor was in need of replacement until today. It started out making a very slight high pitched noise a couple months ago then the noise stopped and the fan worked normally. Then it started working intermittently. I of course moved the switch to the off position and started saving my coins for replacement but occasionally would turn on the switch on. It would not operate but if I touched the dash lovingly (an abrupt slap with closed fist) the fan would start, then that quit working. Today I turned the switch to the on position and the fan wouldn't work for a while until I hit a bump when it came on and sounded just fine. I have noticed this happening in the past, but just assumed that the bearings were toast and the bump somehow made the fan move enough to get it running again. Since the noise is gone, I am wondering if I might have a bad connection. Does anyone have any intuitive input while I wait for the weather to get warm a little so I can check it out?

TIA Joe 87 Weekender
