there are two Porsche powered vanagons that I know of in Victoria. Both syncros, one is a white westy with oversize wheels and a big box airconditioner in the luggage rack and the other is a gold coloured passenger van. I have had an up close (and under!) look at the latter and the heat arrangement is via an oil-water heat exchanger mounted under the van on the sliding door side. Russell Sherman at Autospiel(here in Victoria) was involved with the mechanics of this van (rebuilding gearboxes and more), and he took me along for a ride when he was working on the beast. It sure did move nicely and the sound it made...!
