Could also be something simple like a dented gas tank (like someone tried to lift the van by putting a jack under the gas tank) thinking it was more solid. Then the pickup is pushed up and what is happening is you are not getting gas. The slope of the van has a lot to do with the engine missing or not. Had the exact same type of thing happen to our van. Nobody could find the problem but a couple of the mechanics did mention that it looked like someone had tried to lift the van using the gas tank. Sure enough, that was it. Still have to pop the tank out (haven't had time) so for the time being, I just don't let the tank get under 1/4.
