I don't recall that article. However, I do recall an article in European Car
Magazine (formerly VW/Porsche Magazine). In the January 1994 issue, they
detailed a conversion performed by a place called Knightwerks in Honolulu,
Hawaii on a Canadian spec Crewcab Transporter. They performed the
installation with parts from MSDS and decided to use the Vanagon transaxle.
There is a mention of using exhaust pieces from MSDS due to ground clearance
problems but heating was not addressed. Of course this vehicle was in Hawaii.
I hardly think they worry about heating there. A quick review of the MSDS
website yielded no reference to heating. Nor are there any photos of the
headers.
