Last summer, it turned out both my panel and my float rod (sender)
were bad.  David did an excellent job fixing the panel, and gave me
lots of helpful electronics advice besides.  I bought a new float rod
through Euro-American, which is the original manufacturer (under its
old name, Delta Six).  They're at www.deltasix.com, or (423)908-9384.
(I had ordered the rod before David discovered how to fix rods;
otherwise I probably would have had David do the rod, too.)

Since David found that the cemented joints in the float rod could develop
leaks (due to time or stress, presumably), I put a little aquarium cement on
mine to help keep the water out.  (I couldn't find any sealant that
specifically
claimed to be non-toxic, so I chose aquarium cement on the theory that,
if it won't kill something as death-prone as a goldfish, it won't kill me.
It's
probably just plain ol' silicone sealer with a fish printed on the tube.)
