Subject: Custom Syncro Springs, Rear

The Syncro custom front spring project is finished and 12 of the buyers have received their springs. I am very happy with mine and have heard good reports so far. During this process numerous people asked about rear springs. Peter B. and I are now considering taking up this project. The rear springs are a more complicated design and should take more time and money as I expect that we will need to have a prototype or 2 made before we can settle on a final design. Before embarking on this quest I would like to know how many Syncro owners would be interested in replacement springs slightly stiffer and taller than our used stock ones. For purposes of this question, assume a cost of $150 per set of 2 rear springs. If we proceed, I hope to have them done in time to use them for this summer's voyages. This would be a not for profit enterprise and aimed only at those Syncro owners who already think that they might have a use for these springs. This is for Syncros only, not 2 WD vanagons.

Please respond to me privately or to the Syncro list. The Syncro list should be the primary list for discussion of this project. If you do not belong to the Syncro list and find this topic to be of interest, you should subscribe. I do not plan to CC the Vanagon list after this point.
