One other thing to remember is that it will also be an excellent time to
replace those SQUEAKY control arm bushings! :-)

Well, the response to David Marshall's offer to put together a special order
for Syncro Springs is underwhelming!
But allow me to back up to explain the basis of the idea:
It is my understanding that as springs age they get weaker. They will sag a
little or a lot and become softer/less responsive to the bumps. This would
also mean that old springs would put more stress on the shocks and wear them
out sooner.
All this would be especially true for vans carrying heavy loads... like
Westys.
The OME shocks that people are ordering for their Syncros cost about $400
for a set of 4. The cost to have a mechanic install them is about $200. Most
of this cost is probably for the front shocks since the springs must be
removed in order to install the shocks.
So it would seem that if any of the 17 or so people going in on the OME
syncro shocks are thinking of springs, now would be the time to act so you
(or your mechanic) can install them along with the shocks. Also, that way
you will get the most life (and best performance) out of your $400 OME
shocks. (If we get enough people, the springs should cost less than the
shocks.)
So if anyone is interested in a group order for Syncro Springs, please let
David Marshall know soon.
