I got that virus about a year ago. If you open the file its a fireworks display and a virus that sends itself out as an attached file to your email without your knowing it. It is pretty benign but clogs up email. If you've seen the fireworks, you have the virus. To check send yourself an email if there's a file attached you have the virus. I'll look back through my records to see if I still have the web address for removal instructions. I didn't have an Anti-virus program at the time so I don't know if they work on this one or not. The main problem is the virus spreads quite rapidly because it usually comes with email from someone you trust. I now send reply email to ask if someone sent an attached file with any email I receive. I also inform of attachments in the body of email. John |
