Had to replace the faucet on my 86 Westy. It has the cheesy switch for the pump built into it, and accepts water from the pump or an outside connection. Went to my local VW dealer and was told it costs $300 ("Hey, it costs us $165" the parts kid said. Nice markup!). Having more lint than bucks in my pocket, I retreated to a local RV shop, who identified the manufacturer of the VW OEM faucet. You can get it from J & C Water Systems, Inc., 2830 Dexter Drive, Elkhart, IN 46514. Phone number is (219) 262-4707. Part number is DS-3600BLK and it cost (in 1998, anyway) $36.95. Guess the VW dealers have some parts priced by the Mercedes folks. Happy Camping! Bob Peterson 86 Westy 99 Golf |
