I doubt it.
Search the archives under "Parts Place" and (not kidding) "Farts Place". I
don't know that their products were the problem, they have mediocre
customer service, reinforced by a return policy designed during The
Inquisition.

Subject: Has Parts Place Improved?
Hi,
We were discussing this on the diesel list and I wanted to get opinions
from
this list too. Last week I received a Beefy catalog from the Parts Place
and
it seems like a place I would normally do business with. The whole thing
seems to be brimming with happy VW karma
However......I have heard their catalog is the only cool
thing about them. I have heard that they never have the recycled item at
the
recycled price in the catalog (at least the people I've talked to) I have
called them on a few occasions to get a recycled part and ended up getting
a
new or rebuilt one from one of our online suppliers for less. ie diesel
motor parts from Jack Ewalds Diesel Shop or a rebuilt Vanagon Auto trans
from
Weddle engineering were both cases where the price of rebuilt was
equivalent
to their used prices. I have checked their catalog from stem to stern and
I
see no mention of a website or even an e-mail address (also I noticed in
some
fine print that the prices in the catalog were current as of 1/1/1999! this
was the Catalog I got last week. 1/5/2000. ) An oversight? Y2K bug or just
a
way to get out of honoring the published prices?
In 2000 how could a company not even have an e-mail address for ordering
never mind a website, especially when the inventory is comprised partially
of
(supposedly) good used material which is available in limited quantities?
Go figure.
anyhow, with that rant out of the way, I would like to hear some feedback
from people both pro and con who have had dealings with them.
My experience has not been recent, and the black marks on their record on
the
Vanagon archives have been there for a while. Have things improved?
Thanks
Keith
