Michael,

On a general note: diesel is always available, in any country. Trucks and tractors use
it. Added advantage over gasoline-engined cars: diesel fuel must be REALLY bad before
it will ruin your engine. If you suspect bad diesel, just drain and change the fuel
filter more often.

I have no particular experience with Mexico - sorry.
