The trick is to jack up the rear 1.5ft about allowing to lower the engine just enough to remove all the plates around the heads. No need to loosen the engine-tranny bolts or the tranny-body mount - the latter allows to tilt the assembly down. 1st time I pulled the engine, later I did it several times the way described above - found it way easier not having to handle the engine's weight other than with a jack below. Needs an 8ft high garage though. > Michael, Germany > 80 Westy > 86 GL
