Dave and Sherrie,

I just replaced mine last month. The manual says to clean and lube the rack, I inspected mine and just added some grease.

The tie rod end can stay on if you find a way to mark where the toe-in adjustment is set. Just back of the nut a little and undo the tie rod from the tie-rod end. Then slide on the boot, and repeat process. I marked the rod and then counted the turns I made. Everything seems fine in the 2,000+ miles since.
