Steve, could you share with us total cost of transplant and what additional parts did you have to buy or take from old engine? I have an '84 with 1.9L engine and sooner or later I am going to need a transplant

I recently clocked 50,000 miles on the AVP remanufactured 1.9L long block that I purchased in August, 1997. Not much to say--no news is good news. [sound of knuckles on wood]

Repair expenses, aside from normal periodic maintenance -- $0.

Compression still in the 130s all around.

It didn't use much oil to start with, and seems to use less as time goes by. On a recent 5500 mile road trip it used 1/2 quart.

Most of the miles were on 2-lane highways in the American west, but the van is also my daily driver and only motorized transportation.
