Gary wrote.... Hello I'm still having a problem with the FI in my new '87 weekender. When I first start the van the O2 voltage starts around 0.45V and slowly climbs for about 3-5 minutes till it reaches approx 0.8V. Once it exceeds +0.8V the voltage starts to ramp up and down from 0 to 0.8V every few seconds.

Hi all, Correct me if I'm wrong (which I prolly am) but from what I've seen w/ my `84 EFI Bosch vehicle is... once the o2 warms up, you see darn near ALL voltages between 0 and 1 volt. Actually, the signal is constantly changing so fast that a DVM can't gate quick enough to show them all. I purchased a lean/rich gauage for the car which has 20 LEDs and gates REALLY quick, when the car is in closed loop and running hard, almost all the LEDs light up. In other words, in one second, the voltage covers almost the entire spectrum between 0 and 1 volt. so, 0 to .3 are lean, .4 to maybe .7 are stoyc (sp?), and .8 to 1 are rich. I used a varible DC P/S to check that the gauge to verify that it worked correctly when I purchased it. It's showing what it's reading.

So my question is... Once up and running, should you see this constant flux or should the voltage level out somewhere? As per the engineers at Autometer (makers of the gauage), they said it's constantly changing so the the computer can adjust. In other words, I bought a 50$ light show that really does no good.

OK, getting off the soap box now
