Hey List,

I just have to jump into this thread. This information applies to 1.9 Vanagons. I just looked at a pair of rear heater hoses that came out of an 1984 GL that I dismantled. One of the hoses has a restrictor in it at the heater end. This restrictor reduces the diameter to about 6mm.. I can only assume that using 5/8" hose into and back out of the heater will upset the apple cart. I purchased 2 of the "t's" from VW a few weeks ago and the were less than $5.00 each at retail.
