Bob Donalds @ Boston Engine in Wayland Mass is the way to go in my opinion.
Bob specializes on the AC and Waterboxer Bus/Vanagon engines. When I have my
engine rebuilt, I'll have him do it.
I believe his long block price is the same as the price you got from the VW
dealer for the short block!


Bob is an active list member.

VWofA wants $2,300 for a short block (no heads) and has no
idea when it could be available.


HELP! Is there a reputable engine rebuilder that you Volks can recommend?
