Dear List: A problem I reported a few months back of my 82 Westfalia (Digifant ll inline four) cutting out and stalling while driving was diagnosed by several members as possibly being the ignition switch. Strangely the problem disappeared on it's own. Yet now, a new warm start symptom of hard starting and erratic idling after warm up has developed. Several tests to find the cause, has led me to the idle switch, which when tested shows some resistance when closed. I decided to replace the switch. So, upon removal of the intake boot I discovered gasoline in the intake boot, and in the throttle body intake. Can you tell me what is happening here? There are no external fuel leaks here, or leaking injector seals. Thanks for any clues you may have. Robert Keezer 1982 Westfalia /95 Golf lll 2.0, Digifant ll Seattle |
