As some of you already know, and the rest are about to learn, the youngest Vanagon transmission mount out there is almost 10 years old. So what does that mean? They are starting to fail and cause vibration problems, etc. A new mount is expensive (on my website for $120 PN 251399201K). An idea I had a few months ago was to use a Rabbit engine mount (the round one on the passenger side) to replace the aging Vanagon tranny mount. The would require buying the mount ($10 at the most) and having a shop cut the old mount off of the bracket and weld the new one on. A customer of mine recently tried this and it worked great. Total cost would be around $50 at the most. Just wanted to share this with the list as more and more of these mounts need replacing.
