Hi Cary, The fuel pump should come on for about 2 seconds as some as power is applied to the computer / key turned on. After that the fuel pump will run on any time there are hall pulses. The ecu energizes a fuel pump relay (in engine compartment) in turn the relay provides 12 volts to the fuel pump.
