OK, Here is the latest "progress" on my dilemma.... When we last visited this issue I would start my '86 Vanagon but it would die shortly after starting. Most members here suggested replacing the ignition switch. Since I last wrote a note the following has been replaced: Ignition Switch Plugs Cap Rotor Wires Coil Fuel Pump Relay Digifant Relay Load Reduction Relay Here are the latest findings.... The problem continues. If the engine stays running long enough to warm up it seems to run for quite some time... When the engine dies after running shortly, the plugs do not spark. After a few more minutes the engine will start again.... only to repeat the cycle. Needless to say I am very frustrated... The Hall sender voltage is showing about 11.27 volts which I think should be correct. OK everyone, where to go now?? Some good out of this... I did take care of a squeak in the steering boot and I tightened up the belts. :> |
