Remove/clean/replace every 80 to 100k is typical. These are a near bullet proof component in my experience. Let me know if you find out what is behind this. You might require a core charge so you can get the old ones for inspection. Could be just leaking bellows mis-diagnosed by not thouroughly cleaning the greasy backside to see the leaky crack.
