Sean, I would call crane and see if they will repair it. It has a lifetime warranty. I had mine repaired after three or four years by Crane when it originally was a "allision" before being bought by Crane. You can get a kit to install in the 009. I has one in my 73 VW Bus with a customized 2L. I switched to the perlux and the engine did not make as much power. I like the optical rather than magnetic, more precise than a magnetic field. I would switch to the "distributor less" ignition system more power to the plugs with NO MORE rotor to wear out. Robert
