But the big problem is that the people that is interested in upgrading the Vanagon (I'm talking people that don't know this list) often see the wbx as nothing but a heap of problems, and they decide that it must go faster than fast! Because of this, they don't give the wbx a second thought, and just scrap it. The sad thing is that the same people have no problem trying to haul out 180 hp from a Beetle (the old), without knowing that the wbx is the very same engine.
