Ed; Most FLAPS have a roll-a-around test station for your battery,starter and alternator. My FlAPS is more that happy to do it for free. Our 85 had high parasitic loses causing a poor charge. I increases the size of the wire between the alternator and starter. This is the weak link in the charging path.
