Subject: Fan switches
Content-Type: text/plain

Has anyone else had problems with the dash mounted switches for the dash fan and rear heater fan? Seems that they keep melting in one of the on positions. Currents are not very high so I am guessing that it is just a poor design in the plastic of the switches.

Got the compression up on the Vanagon. Put on the new catalytic converter and it passed smog. Still has a small idle problem but with all of the discussion on the list thus far, I should have enough information to attack the idle problem. Cold start seems to be working. Started working after the cat was installed so I am guessing that there was some backpressure that was not occurring that was needed. With that present, everything seems to be working. Interesting engine and vehicle this Vanagon but I like is just the same.

William
