Hi K

Cold here in Plymouth and my heater on the vanagon died. but the van runs.

I can't speak about the Vanagons in the extreme cold but did have a truck in northern Wisconson that would never start if it was -12F or below. Always started at -10 though. I ended up putting in a block heater. It went in on the heater hose. This worked great. jWarning, don't try to install when it is way below zero. Had minor frostbite from the antfreeze.
