Well I think we finally came to a bit of progress on the problem with my '86 Vanagon dying shortly after
starting.


Over the last couple of days we have:   Checked engine compartment wiring
                                Replaced the TEMP II sensor
                                Checked for grounds, etc.


Tonight we found the wiring to the ECU was fine but removed it from the bulkhead under the seat and
the bus started reacting to various angles that the ECU was tipped.  If the ECU was tapped lightly the
engine would die.  I think this sounds like the culprit.... so soon maybe I'll have my ride back!


Thanks to everyone here that has given me input on this.  I've learned an awful lot and I can't think of a
better support group.  So pass the prozac and if a new ECU will do the trick (or not) I'll let you all know.
