If I have understood the situation in the US market correctly, it is not VWs fault that the EV costs as much as it does. It is import taxes that is the problem. The US cars don't have that problem, but since the EV is an import, it costs more. Why do you think every Japanese car manufacturer has factories in the US??? If VW would move the production of US market EVs to Puebla, the price would sink like the Titanic.

Here in Norway, the EV costs less than a 4-banger Caravan, not to mention the 4,3 Astro or the 6,5 TD Suburban.
