Subject: Fw: FIRE!!!!!!

True that halon works well but used in most applications for fixed system. Halon removes oxygen from the surrounding fire but works better in a enclosed compartment. So when used on a vanagon or any other VW I would recommend using the licence plate access cover and it better work fast because the compartment is not air tight and it may reflash due to the extreme temperature of the engine. Also be aware that halon is being phased out due to negative effects to our enviroment. The good thing about ABC or BC...I strongly recommend PKP this is a great extinguishing agent believe me its great for Bravo fires. It also blankets the fire and prevents futher spread...I rather have a mess then having it towed to the salvage yard...the negative on PKP it accelerates corrosion so you really have to do a good clean up.
