Richard,

A "common carrier" which serves PGH and your town would carry the seat, "suitably packaged" ( probably in a salvaged refrigerator box which you can beg from an appliance seller,) at a "less than carload" rate, if I remember correctly. See the Yellow Pages and get on the phone and call a trucking company, or call a "consolidator," if the the LTC rate or service is not available.
