I picked-up a copy to see this article for myself. If you read carefully in the section titled "The Truth About Conversions", the author does say that the conversion is no longer in existence. However, this does not necessarily mean the company is out of business. Also, the author was indicating his preference for the Eurospec kit in large part because it is CARB (California Air Resources Board). Not to mention he has personal experience with the company. I'm sure we all endorse our mechanics who consistently performed good work us despite other people having problems with them, right? BTW CARB approval is critical to us who have to register our cars in the Golden State.

Regarding the matter of media exposure: Well, it's all about money. Friendly and knowledgeable as our list preferred vendors are, they probably have never taken out any advertising with VW Trends. When they first printed the Eurospec Conversion article, they got Eurospec to take-out a good size ad. Trends obviously has a business history with Eurospec and probably pursuing future business. They make this philosophy very clear whenever they answer tech questions.."check with one of our advertisers.." Did you notice they mentioned FGA there too?

On the matter of Ken's comment about Eurospec distributors: You may be partially correct. However, I have been dealing with this vendor since 1978 and they have always been above board with me. There is the possibility that Eurospec is doing business only with a few select distributors. They may be keeping a low profile for reasons unknown. I will check with my vendor and get back to the list on this. As of 01/18/00, I was advised that I can order anything I want from Eurospec's product line in any quantity I want. I was even shown what appeared to be a current Eurospec Suggested Price List.

Lastly, I do not work for nor am I affiliated in any manner with Eurospec and/or it's distributors.
