Has anyone put their van through the new ASM 50-15 inspection in NJ? The put the car on a dynamometer and run it through the paces of driving, similar to the IM 240. But the problem I have is there is a fan put in front of the vehicle. This is to simulate the air that you would get whilst driving. That includes more air to the air intake. The big "duh" of this, as most of you have figured out, is that this offers very little benefit to the Vanagon, and even less to the pre 1983 1/3's. Pre 1980 vehicles are exempt. Does anyone have any suggestions for this. Ken, have you been through it over in Bridgeton yet? Another problem is the people who run it, a contractor, not the state, have not quite figured out when they installed it that it was subject to freezing and the machinery does not function in cold weather. More info on this test can be found at http://www.stopthetest.com. I do not belong to this website, but it does seem to offer a way to run these guys out of town on a rail. -- ¼ö°í Çϼ¼¿ä, (Work hard, but don't kill yourself by doing it.) [Korean Proverb] Tim |
