Hi Volks, We've been putting up with a frustrating squeek/groan in our front end for a long time. Last April, had some pro's install new upper control arm bushings, ball joints, shocks etc. Didn't fix the problem. So now today I have my Syncro front end up on blocks determined to find where this squeek is coming from. Upper control arm bushing. I losened the nut on the control arm bolt 3/4 of a turn and wah lah, no more squeek. So here is my question. Does this bolt have a specific torque? Don't see it in the Bentley. Will it hurt anything or be unsafe to have this nut backed off as described? Your comments sure appreciated. Thanks. Jim Alamogordo NM 91 Syncro AW 99 NB TDI |
