this is the #1 reason for auto tranny failure. the seal between diff and final drive going bad. gear oil leaks out of final into your tranny, final has no oil for lubricant thus fries. this happens alot on the audi 5000's w/ auto transmissions. if youre leaking ATF, and the fluid level on your atf dipstick is fine - then you have a bad seal between diff and final. change it before you destroy your trans. chris '84 vanagon AT '86 audi turbo AT (with recently re-selaed tranny) |
