Can any of you who have inline-4 conversions tell me what kind of a throttle cable you are using? My recent acquisition (82 GL formerly Diesel) which has the homemade Scirocco 1.8 engine conversion has a less than satisfactory throttle cable arrangement. The PO extended the cable with one of those cable splicers used on dune buggies. He says he's used it for 5 years w/o any problem. However, it is beginning to bind around the splice area. The friction is at a point where it is noticeable at the gas pedal. I'd like to get a longer cable if one is available. Any suggestions? BenT San Francisco |
