So Herman, does this mean that if your power chip goes down you are SOL?

It appears to me that this type of conversion (where you only have one source for parts) puts you into a situation where failure of a non-replaceable part would really mess you up. Put you back to square one.

That is the thing that worries me about some conversions. Not close enought to the main stream for me to be comfortable.
