Subject:   Mangeled lug nuts (slight rambeling)
Content-Type:   text/plain; charset=us-ascii

I usually enjoy reading the incredible ideas that are discussed on this list. Lately is appears that individuals that no nothing about a topic still feel they have to say something. I am finding that I delete way more than I read lately. The simple cure for mangled lug nuts is, a 12 point 18 mm socket and a hammer. depending how badly mangled the size may differ, SAE may also fit. I worked as a tire changer for years, this is also how to remove locking lugs with no key. Find your self some new lugs from the junk yard or from someone that can send you them in the mail. I have over 20 extras if you need some let me know. Also use a 6 point 19 mm on a breaker bar in the future, I have broke the stock wrench on the side of the road. Getting the lug back out of the socket can be fun but not impossible. I try not to bash the socket on farther than necessary, but have had to many times. Putting a larger socket face to face on the ground with a large punch has worked best for me. I do apologize if I have offended anyone, I would like to see just a little more of "WHAT HAS WORKED FOR ME IN THE PAST" rather than ideas for someone else to test out, and in this case get hurt. Hammer and Chisel, wow that had to hurt!

Rob
