I also did the covnersion. It is EASY. The most important thing was not rushing. I just slept in the top bunk for the first time on Friday night at Cape hatteras. It worked great! One advantage to doing the covnersion the way I did it was that I have more headroom downstairs than a traditional West, albeit a little less upstairs, but that's for sleeping anyway.

I would be glad to share what I can as well.
