Subject: Upper Control Arm Torque
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

Hi Volks, We've been putting up with a frustrating squeek/groan in our front end for a long time. Last April, had some pro's install new upper control arm bushings, ball joints, shocks etc. Didn't fix the problem. So now today I have my Syncro front end up on blocks determined to find where this squeek is coming from. Upper control arm bushing. I losened the nut on the control arm bolt 3/4 of a turn and wah lah, no more squeek. So here is my question. Does this bolt have a specific torque? Don't see it in the Bentley. Will it hurt anything or be unsafe to have this nut backed off as described? Your comments sure appreciated. Thanks.
