Lest anyone thing Ken's post is self-serving, let me add as a satisfied customer, that the fuel line kit is relatively cheap, the quality of the clamps is excellent (worth it to pay for the stainless clamps, IMHO). In fact, I'd get some extra hose and clamps to help the hapless souls who haven't done it and to fix the odd leak here or there on the road.

You might also get some of the smaller diameter hose (5mm, I think) that goes to the expansion tanks in the wheelwells. Mine practically fell apart when I touched them. You'll want regular worm clamps for that.

If you haven't done the engine compartment fuel line change, it's an easy thing to do, even if you're a mechanical newbie. There are some hazards, no doubt, but you'll feel better driving around with new lines rather than cracked lines ready to burst.

Ken posted instructions on how to do the change a while back, so search the archives. There are a few tricks like how to properly depressurize the fuel system, cutting the old rusty fuel clamps off without damaging the fuel rails, etc.

If anyone in the eastern PA area is doing it for the first time on a Vanagon (and I'm cross posting to the pavanagon@onelist.com community), I'll be happy to help. We can even do a tech session when all this darned snow melts.

BTW, I know TBD has the fuel lines also, so pick your favorite vendor.
