When our vans were new, they had little rubber sleeves on the parts of the pop up structure which contact the body when the pop up is down. They're kinda like little tabs which stick down from the tubing. These fell off after about a thousand miles or so. They proceeded to make a racket every time a bump was hit. I took little pieces of popsicle sticks and glued them at the contact points. Much better. If I had it to do over again, I'd probably use neoprene or something of that ilk.

So far as the noise from the rear suspension, most likely candidate is a loose shock absorber mount, although mine has been making a thunking noise for about four years now which no one has been able to find.
