Subject: Vanagon Manual, Hex Wrenches Part 2
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

Today at the junkyard I picked up a fair condition 1985 Vanagon Owner's Manual and Maintenance Schedule. It is free to anyone out there who needs it, but please respond to me off the list as I am not currently subscribed.

Also, a general non-vanagon question to those of you handy with tools and fasteners:

I am consulting for a tool manufacturer, trying to determine the application for a peculiar tool. It is a set of hex male wrenches (like allen wrenches) with a non-tamper feature that consists of a small round hole in the center of the hex. What I mean is that the wrenches have a small hole in the center of the hex. The fastener would have a dowel or post in the center of the opening. A standard Allen will not fit, as without the hole in the wrench it will not fit.

I found one of these fasteners in a junkyard once before, which is what started all this, but I am having trouble finding more of them. My question is whether anyone out there is familiar with this and if so, what have they seen it on. I've been looking at throttle bodys, engine sensors, etc. where the manufacturer may want consumers to leave an adjustment alone. So far, no hits.

Thanks
