It is a bolt up as much as any 1.8L or 2.0L engine out there... I can get these engine new or used - they're not as cheap as a 2.0L! Yes you would have to fabricate the exhuast system, but it would not be that difficult. Installing the intercooler will present some challanges too - you can't get something for nothing!

The turbo charger cooling is quite good on these engines, there are after run pumps and cool it off after you shut the engine off.

Is it really that much better - well, as you and the whole list know, that is a 100% purely personal answer. There are negative things about engine swaps and there are negative things about hopping up your boxer... both are right and both are wrong IMHO!
