Well Jason, one this to do is look at this from a purely financial
perspective.  Around here, the '82 Westy is worth about $4,500-$5,000 if it
is in real good shape.  The '90 with the mileage would probably fetch around
$6,500 to $7,800 in good shape.

Myself, I couldn't imagine living without a Westy so the choice would be a
bit easier, though I can see your dilemma...  Good luck

howdy volks,
I find myself in a dilly of a pickle and need your advice.  i currently own
two vanagons and need desperately to sell one. however, i don't know which
to sell, i love them both so much!  the first is a 90 vanagon gl (non
westy).  it currently has 178,000 on original engine that compresses over
125 all around.  almost everything has been replaced except for engine and
tranny which are in great shape.  paint is good and no rust at all.  the
second is an 82 aircooled westy california emissions.  it has a rebuilt with
about forty thousand.  there is a tiny bit of rust for an 18 year old car,
but she looks real good.  all camping equipment works fine. she needs a
little bit of mechanical attention but nothing a few weekends getting greasy
won't fix.  they both have their pluses and minuses (mostly pluses).  what
do i do, i have no choice but sell one of them.  any ideas??
