Subject: gasline antifreeze...
Content-type: text/plain; charset=x-user-defined

I haven't followed all of these comments on gasline antifreeze, but I can add that a few years back, we had two diesel jettas for 5 years, and november, because of great changes in weather and temperature, was the worst month for diesel cars being "stuck" on the side of highways... Ultramar that has a refinery in the quebec city region, once got caught with cold weather or change of weather... they put more or less paraffin and other chemicals (???) in their fuel and eventhough all the other companies go and fill at this refinery, their additives are not the same.. we knew that when we saw a car sitting on the side, it was a diesel ??? then, if you bought a bottle of antifreeze it had to be written for diesel only ...gas and diesel was accepted but...I lived two years in Chicago, and the changes there were worth the Guinness records sometimes! bottles were bought by the dozens... one thing more: always full your tank at a station when they sell a lot of fuel... I discovered a gas station around my place, where they full more than 15 to 20 school busses every day... that is the place to go... we are talking about our own tanks, but think about what happens in the refinery tank, the truck and the station tanks ??? in a day that the temperature varies of 30 degrees or more... water gets in these more... so, if you can do it, keep your tank as full as possible. Also I know that this will lift a lot of protest, but I used to add one liter of supreme gas in the 55 liters of fuel when it became very cold that is minus 20, 25' F... and best of all I had a very good check of my glow plugs in november... for good starts... happy sunday to all and good super...B...
